Case Worker I - Emergency Assistance

Position Title: Case
Worker I -Emergency Assistance
Salary: $17.00-18.00/hour
depending on years of experience/education level.
Schedule: Full time/35 hours per week
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
To assess need and provide financial assistance services to
residents of Livingston and/or Steuben counties through assessment interview
process, budget education, budget preparation, referrals to appropriate
resources as well as addressing any immediate needs presented during the intake
process.
Must possess excellent active listening skills, a
non-judgmental attitude, and a great deal of empathy.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
· Provide assessment of
need for services following program guidelines and client request.
· Provide financial or
non-monetary assistance based on availability of funds and specific need of
client. Examples of need: Security deposit, rent, mortgage, utilities,
gasoline, medical, personal hygiene items, diapers, household items, and
furniture.
· Provide budget
management and conservation education.
· Refer clients to
appropriate agencies for other needed services.
· Assist Program
Supervisor with completing the Community Services Block Grant funding reports.
· Assist with coordination
of fundraisers and special events for Program. This includes, but is not
limited to, Back to School giveaway, Christmas giveaway, Parish Appeal, and
Summer Appeal.
· Enter client data into the
agency Electronic Health Record.
· May provide relief
coverage at Food Pantry.
· Solicit donations such
as personal care supplies for clients served.
· Provide program updates
and requests to parishes and donors as needed.
· Attend public speaking
engagements for Program and/or Agency events.
· Work closely with Agency
volunteers to triage client needs.
· Participate in staff
meetings.
· Attending agency
functions as requested.
· Attend mandatory
training.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Associate degree in human services or related
field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with human services
agency preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Possess
excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability
to multi-task and prioritize duties.
· Willingness
to foster agency, department and program wide cooperation and teamwork through
use of positive/constructive communication techniques.
· Ability
to maintain absolute confidentiality of all records reviewed including client
records, employee records and billing records.
· Proficiency
and experience with PC’s and Microsoft applications.
· Ability
to analyze and interpret data and to handle problem resolution.
· Possessing
a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by
agency and insurance carrier.
· Continuous
use of a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle.
· Read, write,
and interpret written documents.
· Demonstrate
commitment to Agency Mission Statement.
· Compliance:
Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but
not limited to, those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing, and
documentation standards. All duties must be performed in accordance with CCDR’s
corporate compliance and ethics program.
· Provide

languages, health literacy and other communication needs.
Ability
to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable
