Mechanical/Electrical Service Technician

Summary of Responsibilities

We start by having the right people in-house.  To that we add strategic partners who are industry leaders in automation technology.  By bringing everything together, we’re able to consistently integrate ingenious customized solutions that solve the toughest materials handling challenges.  The Mechanical/Electrical Service Technician contributes to this by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing overhead cranes, conveyors, and automation equipment.

Essential Duties

The Mechanical/Electrical Service Technician plays a vital role in the ongoing success of Han-Tek.  Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.  The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:

§  Performs equipment repair on overhead crane, conveyor, and automation equipment

§  Completes required inspection on overhead cranes and hoists

§  Maintains project budgets and schedules

§  Follows Han-Tek record keeping procedures for builds, inspections, and tests

§  Completes system debug

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

Based on the technical and professional responsibilities of this position, the Mechanical/Electrical Service Technician is required to have the following qualifications:

§  High school diploma or GED

§  3-5 years’ relevant experience

§  Equivalent combination of education and experience with integrated material handling and/or automation systems

§  Strong mechanical and basic electrical background

§  Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and assembly drawings

§  Forklift certification preferred

§  Crane Inspector Certification preferred

§  OSHA 10 hour-General Industry preferred

§  Knowledge of FieldID is preferred

§  Valid driver license

§  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

§  Ability to interact with customers and employees in a professional manner, excellent verbal skills

 

Physical and Environmental

The Mechanical/Electrical Service Technician is located primarily in a production environment, but may experience other conditions while on-site at a customer’s location on a regular basis.  Physical requirements include:

§  Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds)

§  Use of potentially hazardous machinery

§  Use of power tools

§  Exposure to fumes from painting supplies and other chemicals used throughout production and installation

§  Exposure to loud noise

§  Proper safety equipment must be worn including:

o   Safety glasses

o   Steel-toed boots

§  Awareness of potential hazards, such as nearby machinery, while in the shop or at a customer location

§  Customer locations may require appropriate safety equipment to be used
