Summer position
Looking
for a rewarding and fun weekend summer job where you can help girls build their
confidence and character? Join our friendly, innovative, and fun staff as a
Lifeguard at Camp Hoover Adventure Center located in the heart of Central
New York on scenic Song Lake in Tully. Our Camp
has facilities for waterfront activities (swimming and boating), a full archery
range for girls to assess their skills, and our very own private island!
General
Responsibility:
·
The
Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring that all swimming activities occur in a
safe and age-appropriate manner.
·
Serves
as a lifeguard when the waterfront is open.
·
Must
be available for the following days and times:

July
7: Staff Training (9am-5pm)

July
9: Mom and Me Camp (8:30am-12pm)
-
July
10: Mom and Me Camp (8:30am-12pm)
-
July
16: Troop Core Camp (8:30am-12pm)
-
July
23: Troop Core Camp (8:30am-12pm)
-
July
30: Troop Core Camp (8:30am-12pm)

August
6: Troop Core Camp (8:30am-12pm)

13: Troop Core Camp (8:30am-12pm)

Reliable
transportation required.

Camp
is open on the weekends. Typical work schedule is Saturday mornings, with a few
exceptions.
·
The
health and safety of our staff, girls, and volunteer community is our highest priority.
Therefore, the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways is requiring all newly hired,
(and current) staff members to be fully vaccinated with an FDA approved
Covid-19 vaccine and follow all covid protocols implemented by the Girl Scouts
of NYPENN Pathways.
Qualifications:
- Must be over the age of 18
·
Current Lifeguarding certification with
appropriate Waterfront module and up-to-date CPR and First Aid necessary.
·
Possess good character, integrity, patience,
sense of humor, enthusiasm, and willing to be a part of the camp community.
·
Have training and/or experience working with
children in an outdoor setting preferred.
·
Believe in the Girl Scouts mission.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to safely walk on uneven
terrain, up and down hills for distances up to ½ mile
·
Comfortable
with varying inside and/or outside environmental conditions, noise, outdoor
elements such as rain, wind, sun, heat, and may be exposed to animals such as
bugs, snakes, bats, etc.

Other
duties as assigned.
