Looking for a rewarding and fun
summer weekend job where you can help girls build their confidence and
character? Join our friendly, innovative, and fun staff as an Adventure Coordinator
at Hoover Adventure Center located on scenic Song Lake in Tully, NY. Our Camp has facilities for waterfront activities
(swimming and boating), a full archery range for girls to assess their skills
and our very own private island!
Job Summary:
In
this important role, the Adventure Coordinator is responsible for leading our
many outdoor activities which include slingshots, archery, tomahawk throwing,
BB guns, boating, and swimming. The Adventure Coordinator will also be
responsible for leading our outdoor badge programs, primitive camping trips, and
will assist with a variety of all-camp programs and other camp related
responsibilities.
This is a summer position that will run from July 5, 022 to August
14, 2022
· Must be
available for the following dates:

July 5-7: Staff Training
-
July 8-10: Mom and Me Camps
-
July 15-17: Troop Core Camp
-
July 22-24: Troop Core Camp
-
July 29-31: Troop Core Camp
-
August 5-7: Troop Core Camp
-
August 12-14: Troop Core Camp
· Reliable
transportation required to and from Tully, NY.
· Typical
work schedule is Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
· Rate of
pay: $1200.00 for the season
· The
health and safety of our staff, girls, and volunteer community is our highest
priority. Therefore, the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways is requiring all newly
hired, (and current) staff members to be fully vaccinated with an FDA approved
Covid-19 vaccine and follow all covid protocols implemented by the Girl Scouts
of NYPENN Pathways.
Qualifications
·
Must be over the age of 18 years of age.
·
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or
willingness to obtain.
·
Willingness to obtain archery, tomahawk,
slingshot, BB gun and boating training.
·
Lifeguard certification highly desirable.
· Energetic
and ability to bring a positive attitude to camp.
· Be
flexible, creative and a great role model.
· Have experience
working with children in the outdoors necessary.
· Believe
in the Girl Scouts mission.
Other Requirements:
- Possess strong
character, integrity, patience, sense of humor, enthusiasm, a high level
of flexibility, and willingness to be a part of the camp community.
·
Ability
to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force
frequently or constantly to move objects.
·
Ability
to safely walk on uneven terrain, up and down hills for distances up to ½
mile
·
Endurance
to meet emergency needs
·
Ability
(and willingness) to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours
·
Comfortable
with varying inside and/or outside environmental conditions, noise, outdoor
elements such as rain, wind, sun, heat, and may be exposed to animals such as
bugs, snakes, bats, etc.

duties as assigned.
