Chemical Dependency Clinician

PCN: 1011 
Classification: Full Time; Non-Exempt; 12-month 
Department: Clinic 
Reports to: Clinical Director 

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED with relevant practical experience and/or experience in substance use disorders/mental health treatment required. Entry-level or experienced candidates welcome. Qualified Health Professional (LMSW, CASAC, etc.) preferred. Familiarity and competency with computers.

The Chemical Dependency Clinician duties involve coordination, training, supervision, and management of client activities in order to accomplish goals. Successful candidates will demonstrate advanced communication and organizational skills as well as excellent reasoning and interpersonal skills. 

JOB DUTIES 

  • Prepare and maintain records and case files, including documentation, such as clients’ personal and eligibility information, services provided, narratives of client contacts, or relevant correspondence.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record clients’ progress with respect to treatment and recovery goals.
  • Counsel clients in individual or group sessions to help them overcome dependencies, deal with substance abuse, recover from illness, and adjust to life or make changes (often involves overlap with mental or physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse).
  • Counsel or aid family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting the client.
  • Interview clients, review records, conduct assessments, or confer with other professionals to evaluate the mental or physical condition of clients or patients.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to develop individualized treatment plans, drawing on social work experience and patient needs.
  • Develop client-directed Recovery Plans that fit clients’ aptitudes, education levels, physical abilities, and career goals.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals.


Compensation
: Competitive; $35,500-48,500/year commensurate with experience; Excellent benefits include exciting opportunities for professional development.
