Salary: $16.50/hr.
Full-time: 37.5 hours/week, work schedule Monday –
Thursday, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm, and Friday, 6:30:00 am – 12:00 We believe in work-life balance!

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The
Warehouse Order Picker for dry products is responsible for performing various
warehouse duties, including but not limited to product movements, inventory
flow, processing, receiving, disposal, replenishment, general maintenance, and
operating warehouse equipment while providing support and backup for vacancies
in other warehouse positions. As part of the Operations team, all team members
are responsible for ensuring food and workplace safety, cleanliness, and in
compliance with the Food Bank of the Southern Tiers' food and workplace safety
and food defense programs. In addition, this person needs to be alert, detail-oriented,
able to follow instructions, and comfortable working in a fast-moving,
changing, and flexible environment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Fills all orders assigned and ensures they are picked accurately,
reports challenges to the Director of Warehouse Operations.
Safely operates
forklift, hand truck, manual/electric jack, pallet wrapping machine,
compactors, and other tools/machines as appropriate and in accordance with FBST policies and OSHA regulations.
Loads and unloads pallets to and from trailers/vehicles; safely
operates dock lifts.
Wrap pallet when pallet/load is finished.
Stage pallet and/or load into a truck when ready.
Complete partial pallets and put away mixed pallets.
Assists
with pallet storage/disposition and baled cardboard storage/disposition.
Places
products in appropriate storage racks.
Disposes of product at the direction of the Director of Warehouse
Operations.
Cleans work area based on Master Cleaning Schedule posted in that
area or as directed.
Assist with inventory cycle counts as directed.
Ability to work for brief periods of time in a cooler and freezer
environment (PPE provided).
Completes and passes annual Food Safety Training.
Follows all instructions, processes, and procedures.
Operates
Food Bank Vehicles (Non-CDL) as needed.
Performs
pre-shift inspections of Food Bank equipment and reports any problems to the
Director of Warehouse Operations.
Understand
the personal responsibility to follow all safety policies and health rules,
programs, and procedures, report all unsafe acts, environment, or behaviors
immediately, and always report safety issues, incidents or accidents
immediately.
Helps
maintain clean, debris-free rack locations, including assisting with product
spillage, pallet fragments, empty pallets, and cardboard/plastic wrap.
Works
with other team members in a cooperative and supportive way, providing
assistance and backup coverage for other warehouse positions.
Assists
with warehouse inspections.
Helps
maintain a clean and safe warehouse.
Other
duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·
High School Diploma or GED.
·
One (1) year experience working in a warehouse and/or
product distribution center operating a forklift.
·
Forklift certification
required.
·
Must have basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying,
and dividing all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals.
·
Regularly lift, carry, or move objects
weighing up to 50lbs.
·
Pass alcohol and
drug testing.
