We’re looking for a Program Director for our
newest radio station,
WBFO The Bridge – College Radio for Adults.
What you’ll be doing:
The
Program Director is responsible for the overall vision, direction, and
management of the station. This position can be hybrid – a blend
of remote and in-office/event work. In
summary, this individual will:
Be responsible for the on-air product – curate
music, on-air host, underwriting, etc.; strategize Patreon messaging and offers
Produce/Host podcast content as well as
short-form and mini-music storytelling videos for all platforms (audio, video
and digital program content)
- Manage day-to-day station operations including supervision of station staff
- Be responsible for BTPM’s relationship to major and independent labels and managers
- Collaborate with various departments to execute our strategic plan
- Manage station budget
- Organize and attend on- and off-site promotional events
- Host pledge on TV and radio
What you’ll need:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in
radio hosting/programming
- Minimum of Associate’s degree (or
equivalent) in media, marketing, journalism, or related field; Bachelor degree
preferred
- A comprehensive knowledge of the music genre –
adult alternative
- Computer skills/programs – Microsoft Office
- Previous supervisory experience desired
- Familiarity of broadcast equipment preferred
- Excellent management, organization and communication skills
- Knowledge of radio traffic software is a plus
- Public-facing personality – friendly, energetic demeanor; comfortable with public-speaking/being in front of various sized and demographic audiences
- Understanding of on-air compliance and regulatory guidelines
- Travel requirement: approximately 10%, primarily local travel, some overnights/weekends may be required

Salary and Benefits:
This
is an exempt, salaried position and starting pay will be based on education,
experience and interview. Starting
range: $65k -$80k. Additional monetary
potential for appearances,
engagements, etc.
