Salary: $18.00-
$20.00 an hour

About
the Role:
The
employment caseworker plays a pivotal role in supporting individuals by
actively engaging them in job readiness activities. These activities are
designed to help participants develop the essential skills needed to succeed in
the workforce, including but not limited to resume writing, interview
preparation, and professional communication. The caseworker works closely with
individuals to assess their current skill levels, provide tailored guidance,
and connect them with relevant training resources. Additionally, the employment
caseworker helps individuals navigate the job application process, enhances
their job search strategies, and offers ongoing support to ensure they are
well-prepared.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the
following cases as outlined within the interorganizational design of the
employment program:
1. Recipients (A-M) or (N-Z), code 41/42 and possible other codes, as assigned
2. Non-compliant recipient management.
3. WEP, HSE, ESL and Job Search assignment.
4. Worksite development.
5. Meet with WFD when needed to ensure design is working.
6. Meet with DSS examiners as needed.
7. Comply with all contract requirements.
8. Utilize process of contacting each client through
1. In office meetings
2. Telephone call (if number available), If phone call is not successful a home visit is complete
3. If client not home, a letter is left addressed to client
-or-
4. A second attempt at both 1 and 2 may be needed depending on circumstances.
9. Place participants in an appropriate work site within county, based on individual need using referral system CMS.
10. Engage all participants in employment activities to help them become work ready.
11. Client Employment plans- ensure they are updated regularly.
12. CMS case notes reflect change in case status as needed.
13. Attend staff meetings, and other required meetings.
14. Participating at agency functions as appropriate.
15. Attend mandatory training.
16. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with community partners
and maintain professional relationships.
- Experience in social services, case management, or a
related field is preferred.
- Flexibility adapting to the needs of clients and varying
work schedules.
- Location: Includes on-site work at the DSS office and
field visits to clients.
- Hours: 35 hours per week, depending on client needs.
EDUCATION: High school diploma
required
- Relevant combination of education and experience will be
considered
Preferred Skills:
· Willingness to foster agency, department and program wide cooperation and teamwork using positive/constructive communication techniques.
· The ability to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all records reviewed including client records, employee records and billing records.
· Ability to analyze and interpret data and to handle problem resolution.
· Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier.
· Continuous use of a reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
· Demonstrate full adherence to the Code of Conduct and all policies/procedures related to compliance.
· Demonstrate commitment to Agency Mission Statement.
· Provide beffective, equitable, understandable and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy and other communication needs.
