Electrical Technician

Summary of Responsibilities

We start by having the right people in-house.  To that, we add strategic partners who are industry leaders in automation technology.  By bringing everything together, we’re able to consistently integrate ingenious customized solutions that solve the toughest materials handling challenges.  The Electrical Technician contributes to this by completing the electrical build of projects, including installation and coordination with the project team.

Essential Duties

The Electrical Technician plays a vital role in the ongoing success of Han-Tek.  Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.  The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:

§  Part of the electrical assembly and installation team

§  Builds assembly, wires and performs installation of electrical panels

§  Wires electrical components on equipment and machines, including wire way and conduit runs

§  Designs and fabricates of brackets for mounting electrical devices

§  Maintains project budgets and schedules

§  Conducts systems debug

§  Follows Han-Tek record keeping procedures for builds, inspections, and tests

§  Supervises installation crews, including contractors

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

Based on the responsibilities of this position, the Electrical Technician is required to have the following qualifications:

§  High school diploma or GED

§  3-5 years’ experience as an electrical technician

§  Equivalent combination of education and experience with integrated material handling and/or automation systems

§  Strong electrical and basic mechanical background

§  Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and assembly drawings

§  Forklift certification preferred

§  OSHA 10 hour-General Industry preferred

§  Valid driver license

Physical and Environmental

The Electrical Technician is located primarily in a production shop environment but may experience other conditions while on-site at a customer’s location on a regular basis.  Physical requirements include:

§  Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds)

§  Use of potentially hazardous machinery

§  Use of power tools

§  Exposure to fumes from painting supplies and other chemicals used throughout production and installation

§  Exposure to loud noise

§  Proper safety equipment must be worn including:

o   Safety glasses

o   Steel-toed boots

o   Customer locations may require additional safety equipment to be used

§  Awareness of potential hazards, such as nearby machinery, while in the shop or at a customer location
