Position Title:  KAT Team Leader

Salary: Starting at $16.00/hr.

Schedule: Part-time/21 hours per week (This is a SEASONAL position running for 5 weeks beginning in July.)

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the daily implementation of programming for Kids Adventure Tim in Yates County. This is a seasonal position in Yates County, New York. The program runs 5 weeks in the summer beginning in July.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

The Kids Adventure Time Team Leader fulfills his/her role with the performance of the following functions:

·       Attends mandated training geared toward children’s behaviors and agency policies.

·       Sets up site and tears down daily as well as end of year clean up.

·       Activity implementation: There are pre-scheduled activities in which youth are involved. It is the Team Leader’s role to ensure that youth arrive at those activities as scheduled.

·       Activity Planning: there will be days where a scheduled activity falls through or a group of children need a diversion. It is the role of the Team Leader to have an activity in mind to address this need as it happens, cutting down on confusion or interruption in routine.

·       Mandated reporter: By law, this position requires that if there is suspected neglect or abuse with an enrolled youth, the Team Leader go through the appropriate steps to report this concern to the New York State Central Registry.

·       Lead the Team: The Team Leader oversees youth and other workers through the course of the day. They give the directives and adhere to the schedule, as well as keep the other workers involved with their assigned groups on task.

·       Report Safety Concern: if there is an environmental concern, it is the Team Leader’s responsibility to address it immediately and report it to the Program Coordinator or Site Supervisor.

·       Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a high school graduate, some college preferred, clearance through the New York State Central Registry. Experience working with at risk youth either through employment or volunteer experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

·       Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to, those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing, and documentation standards.

·       All duties must be performed in accordance with CCDR’s corporate compliance and ethics program.

·       Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.

·       Willingness to foster agency, department and program wide cooperation and teamwork through use of positive/constructive communication techniques.

·       Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all records reviewed including consumer records, employee records and billing records.

·       Proficiency and experience with PC’s and Microsoft applications.

·       Ability to analyze and interpret data and to handle problem resolution.

·       Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier.

·       Continuous use of a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle. 

 

Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:

·       Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment, including motor vehicles.

·       Stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.

·       Climb up or down stairs.

·       Able to reach above or below shoulders.

·       Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 10 lbs.

·       Sitting at a desk or in a vehicle for long periods of time to perform certain job functions.

·       Be able to read, write and interpret written documents.
