We’re looking for a Social
Media Associate!
What
you’ll be doing:
The Social Media Associate creates compelling organic content, both static
images and vertical video, for BTPM’s family of stations on various social
media platforms to increase brand awareness, engagement, and leads for new
audiences, potential members, and potential sponsors. This
position can be hybrid – a blend of remote and in-office work.
In summary, this individual will:
- Create and implement promotional content for all assigned social
media accounts
- Adhere to the editorial calendar, promotional priorities, and
social media best practices
- Implement the established social media strategy for BTPM entities,
projects, and fundraising campaigns
- Promote BTPM’s content, mission, and messaging through compelling
and engaging content; consistently practicing inclusive messaging
- Monitor all comments and messages on social media platforms and,
if needed, responds appropriately by following established protocol, escalating
as appropriate
- Monitor real-time analytics to inform strategy for future content
- Collaborate with brand managers and project leads to create
engaging social content that achieves promotional goals
- Make recommendations to management for improving reach and
engagement on social media
What
you’ll need:
- Minimum of Associate degree in
Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, related field or two
(2) years of related experience in lieu of degree
- Familiarity with a variety of
social media platforms, personal or professional use; internship experience a
plus
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft
Office
- Working
knowledge of graphic design for social media and familiarity with design
platforms (i.e. Canva)
- Demonstrated
ability to use necessary equipment for content creation (i.e. smartphone
camera, its settings and apps)
- Strong
writing, grammar, and spelling skills; accuracy and attention to detail are a
must
- Strong
verbal communication skills; ability to work in cross-departmental teams
- Must have
the ability to work within constant deadlines and have strong organizational
and prioritization skills
- Enthusiastic,
motivated, innovative, problem-solver, creative team player
- Familiarity
with post scheduling platforms and project management software a plus
- Experience in media and/or a nonprofit setting a plus

Salary
and Benefits:
This is a full-time, non-exempt
hourly position and starting pay will be based on education, experience and
interview. Starting range: $15.50 to $18.15/hr.
