We’re looking for an Audio Programming Specialist!

 

What you’ll be doing:

The Audio Programming Specialist (APS) will schedule music as directed by the Music Director, will check the daily playlist for errors, and on-air hosting, primarily for WNED Classical.  This position specializes in radio broadcast operations, maintains the MusicMaster scheduling system for both music stations, and is responsible for downloading and inserting live and pre-produced programs. In addition, this individual will assist with the coordination of performances in the BTPM performance space. This position can be hybrid – a blend of remote and in-office work. In summary, this individual will:

  • Schedule music on WNED Classical per the direction of the Music Director
  • Perform the operation and data entry of the music database (MusicMaster) and other aspects of the music playlists
  • Generate lists of scheduled works for the respective stations’ website
  • Serve as a regular on-air host as directed and assigned
  • Download and insert live and pre-produced programs to BTPM YouTube, other applicable platforms and respective stations’ website
  • Assist with the coordination of performances in the BTPM performance space including Tiny Stage Concerts and other shows
  • Monitor and update the music server libraries as needed
  • Participate in pledge drives as assigned
  • Ensures compliance with FCC and BTPM audio technical standards and deadlines

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum of undergraduate degree in music, broadcasting or related field or equivalent related experience
  • Excellent knowledge of classical music
  • Excellent on-air personality and skills; personable, able to speak eloquently and clearly
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in music radio operations
  • Highly skilled with audio recording and current production and editing software/equipment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of FCC on-air compliance, broadcast operations, standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams

Salary and Benefits:

This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position and starting pay will be based on education, experience and interview.  Starting range: $19.33 to $24.16/hr.
