We’re looking for an Assistant Post-Production Editor!

 

What you’ll be doing:

The assistant post-production editor is responsible for post-production editing prep for broadcast and digital productions.  This individual is responsible for organizing media for producers and completing editing duties as assigned. This position is primarily on-site but may be hybrid – a blend of remote and in-office work.

In summary, this individual will:

  • Edit short- and long-form video and audio content for a variety of platforms, including broadcast and digital (e.g. YouTube, Instagram, WNED PBS app.)
  • Ingest and transcode media for post-production editor.
  • Log footage for editor and producers.
  • Prep media for transcription.
  • Log and organize BTPM legacy and institutional footage.
  • Coordinate with graphic design and animation as needed for post-production edits.
  • Collaborate with Production Coordinator to understand and meet all deliverable requirements.

 

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum of an associate degree in film/media production, or related field, OR equivalent two (2) years of experience (internship experience is acceptable)
  • Displays technical aptitude and proven skills in video production and digital video editing software such as Avid Media Composer and Adobe Suite; After Effects preferred
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Familiarity of current and emerging digital and social platforms
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office or similar programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be well organized and capable of working independently
  • Contributes to the team positively and professionally; collaborates and communicates well with all levels of the organization
  • Stays current on new trends and technologies related to video post-production

Salary and Benefits:

This is a non-exempt, per-diem/casual position which means you would work an irregular schedule as needed/requested. Pay range: $17.57 to $21.96.
