What
you’ll be doing:
The Host supports station programming for WNED Classical by hosting
pre-recorded and live on-air broadcasts and engaging with the station’s
listeners. Both an on-site and remote work option are available in this role. In summary, this individual will:
- Serve as announcer for
open station shifts, by voice tracking programs in advance of air date
- Review set play list
for correct pronunciation of music and composers. Provide commentary to
bridge musical selections
- Report (or solve)
programming or equipment discrepancies or problems as they occur. During
non-business hour shifts, take responsibility for overall Classical WNED
operations and monitor security
- Adhere to FCC
regulations and broadcasting best practices
What
you’ll need:
- Demonstrated knowledge
of the classical music genre
- Maintains
up-to-date on related concerts and events
- Minimum of high
school diploma or equivalent; advanced degree in music, broadcasting, media or
related field preferred
- Previous
experience in classical music radio preferred
- Knowledge of
broadcast operations and standards preferred
- Familiarity
with current production and editing software highly desirable
- Demonstrated
proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office
- Understanding of on-air compliance and
regulatory guidelines
- Excellent verbal/on-air personality and skill,
personable; able to speak eloquently and clearly

Salary
and Benefits:
This is
a part-time, non-exempt position and starting pay will be based on
education, experience and interview. This position has a starting
rate of $19.33 per hour. Part-time hosts enjoy a flexible schedule and an accrued sick time benefit.
