CPA/Nutritionist
CAPCO’s Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Program is searching for a
compassionate CPA/Nutritionist to join our team! Grow your skills by helping us
serve Cortland County’s low-income families by providing nutritional
assessments and breastfeeding support and education.
Position: CPA/Nutritionist
Program: Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
Reports to: WIC Director
Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: 22.5 hours/week
Starting Wage: $23 – $25 per hour
Job Function: Provides nutrition assessments as well as counseling to low-income women, infants and children with dietary, medical and health risks and coordinates breastfeeding activities by performing the following duties.
Nutritionist Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for conducting nutritional assessments
- Provides nutrition education and diet counseling to WIC clients.
- Develops appropriate individualized nutrition education plans for clients
- Tailors and authorizes food packages for participants.
- Provides instruction on use of farmer’s market coupons and promotes the use of fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Responsible for documentation of nutrition services.
- Assist with the development of the annual Local Agency Compliance and Self-Assessment Plan.
Qualifications and Requirements: Registered Dietician (RD), Nutrition and Dietetics Technician (DTR, NDTR), Registered Nurse (BSN); or Bachelor’s degree in an health-related field with at least 6 credit hours in nutrition; must receive approval of NYS Health Department to work as a Competent Professional Authority (CPA).
