Family Therapist

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

The Family Therapist is a part of the Children’s Services team.  The Therapist will primarily provide Intensive In Home Family therapy to families of non-Medicaid Children referred by Livingston County SPOA.  The Therapist will also complete QI assessments referred by LDSS agencies.  Also provides Complex Trauma Assessment to children living in Livingston and Steuben counties to determine Health Home eligibility. May also supervise MSW interns from local colleges.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1.       Provide intensive in home Family Therapy (in person or by telehealth) to families of non-Medicaid Children referred by Livingston County SPOA

2.       Screen and accept client referrals referred by SPOA.

3.       Provide therapy once a week to families, assuring services are individualized to meet each families’ needs.

4.       Conduct assessments as outlined in the OMH contract.

5.       Maintain documentation of client files in the EHR client database.

6.       Provide documentation of measurable outcomes as outlined by OMH contract.

7.       Preparation of periodic program reports.

8.       Participate in Bi-monthly SPOA committee meetings

9.       Conducts QI assessments requested by Local DSS agencies utilizing CANS and structured interviews

10.   Completes required QI reporting forms

11.   Schedules and leads Permanency team meeting to share QI results within 25 days of receipt of referral.

12.   Utilize Trauma Symptom Inventory 2 or Trauma Symptom Checklists for Children to complete Complex Trauma assessment as requested by Children’s Health Homes Supervisor.

13.   Assess multiple impacts of traumatic experience with the child and family.

14.   Assess for a wide range of symptoms (beyond PTSD), risk behaviors, functional impairments, and developmental derailments.

15.   Gather information using a variety of techniques (clinical interviews, standardized measures, and behavioral observations.)

16.   Gather information from a variety of perspectives (child, caregivers, teachers, other providers, etc.)

17.   Provide information score sheets to Care Manager with your professional evaluation.

18.   Monitors and reports in the MHPD system and uploads required statistics.

19.   Provide supervision and outline goals of interns referred by various academic institutes.

20.   Complete necessary paperwork for interns (background check, confidentiality statements, etc.).

21.   Complete monthly reports for funders (Office of Mental Health).

22.   May provide clinical supervision for unlicensed behavioral health staff in other departments as requested.

23.   May provide individual therapy to children in the future as funding and agency licensure allows.

24.   Participate in staff meetings.

25.   Attend CCSL functions as requested.

26.   Attend mandatory training as required.

27.   Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

2+ years of experience in provision of Children’s Services

Licensed Master Social Work, LMSW

Licensed Clinical Social Workers, LCSW

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC

Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, LCAT
