Employment Type: Full- Time 37.5 

Salary: $19.00- $20.00

About the Role:

The Housing Assistant, along with the Housing Caseworker, supports homeless and at-risk individuals and families by providing housing counseling, connecting them with community resources, and promoting long-term stability. This position requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a client-centered approach to ensure that all participants are treated with dignity and respect. 

Key Responsibilities:

Provides housing case management services to DSS-referred clients, including assessments, referrals, and intake sessions, with one half-day per week on-site at DSS.

Conducts weekly visits with homeless clients to assess needs and provide resources, follow-up support, assist clients with budgeting and financial goal setting.

Provides transportation for clients during move-ins, move-outs, and to housing opportunities.

Maintains communication with DSS contacts as needed.

Ensures all client interactions are thoroughly documented in the client intake database, maintaining accurate and up-to-date case notes.

Understands the contract between CCSL and DSS.

Attends CCSL staff meetings, and other required meetings 

Attends CCSL functions as appropriate 

Ensures that all CCSL clients are treated with dignity and respect, always upholding their confidentiality.

Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Credentials: Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier

Experience: Experience working within in a human services setting preferred. 


Relevant combination of education and experience will be considered
