Housing Caseworker
General Description
The Housing Caseworker supports homeless and at-risk
individuals and families by providing housing counseling, connecting them with
community resources, and promoting long-term stability. This position requires
flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a client-centered approach to
ensure that all participants are treated with dignity and respect.
Location: 34 E. State ST, Mt.Morris NY
Salary: $19.50- 21.00 a hour
Hours: 35 hours a week
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provides
housing case management services to clients that are referred by the Department
of Social Services.
o
Responsibilities include assessing client needs, making
referrals to appropriate community resources, and conducting intake sessions,
including one half-day per week on-site at DSS.
· Conducts
weekly visits with homeless clients to assess needs and provide resources, follow-up
support, assist clients with budgeting and financial goal setting.
· Assists
program participants in assessing their financial situation, creating household
budgets, and establishing financial goals.
· Provides
transportation, when necessary, upon moving in, moving out, and to potential
housing opportunities.
· Maintains
regular communication with DSS contacts to address client needs, concerns, and
progress.

This includes a minimum of two interactions per week,
with at least one standing weekly phone call for updates.
· Ensures
all client interactions are thoroughly documented in the client intake
database, maintaining accurate and up-to-date case notes.
· Understands
the contract between CCSL and DSS.
· Attends
CCSL staff meetings, and other required meetings
· Attends
CCSL functions as appropriate
· Ensures
that all CCSL clients are treated with dignity and respect, always upholding
their confidentiality.
· Other
duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s
degree in human services or related field
Credentials: Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's
record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier
Experience: At least 2 years of
experience in social services, case management, or a related field is
preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
· Catholic
Charities of Livingston County requests all team members participate in
fundraising events related to the agency. The dates and times may require
evening and/weekends. Typically, fundraising events are no more than 2-3 per
year. Dates and times are distributed one month in advance for scheduling
purposes.

Ability to work collaboratively with community partners and maintain
professional relationships.

Flexibility adapting to the needs of clients and varying work schedules.

Ability to prioritize assignments, plan, and complete work projects with
minimal direction

Exceptional time management skills and ability to effectively and meet
deadlines

Excellent verbal/written communication skills
·
Ability to work in the following software programs: Windows, Microsoft
Office, and multiple online software platforms as required by funders and
partner organizations
·
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information
with discretion
·
Ability to demonstrate behaviors and attitudes which support
organizational mission, philosophy, and policies

Ability to work in a cooperative and helpful manner with all individuals
·
Willingness and ability to foster agency and program wide cooperation and
