We’re looking for our next News Radio Production Intern!

 

What you’ll be doing:

The radio news production intern will work directly with the program director, broadcast programming associate, and on-air talent to create, produce and broadcast content for WBFO. The intern will gain audio and digital experience in public media broadcasting and news content. Hours are flexible and work may be hybrid – a blend of remote and in-office work.  In summary, this individual will:

  • Assist in the review of daily program logs for WBFO
  • Assist with the research of local and regional news stories specifically for on-air broadcast/programs (i.e. Buffalo What’s Next?)
  • Assist with board operations tasks including booking and scheduling of on-air guests, scheduling and editing recordings for air, etc.
  • Perform research of new programming options and ideas (local and national productions) and potential interstitial opportunities for WBFO programming
  • Train on and use assigned equipment for a variety of broadcast tasks (i.e. recording software, programming software, etc.)

What you’ll need:

  • Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in journalism, communications, media or related field – *must be qualifying for college/university course credit, documentation required
  • Familiarity and general interest in audio production and its digital distribution, community journalism, reaching underserved populations
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office or similar programs
  • Creative, approachable, team-focused, professional demeanor

*This is an unpaid internship for course credit from an accredited college/university program. Internship documentation or agreement from the school is required.
