Catholic
Charities of the Finger Lakes | Overview
Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes is
one of six divisions of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester, serving
approximately individuals throughout Wayne, Ontario, Cayuga, Seneca and Yates
counties.
CCFCS provides a rich array of human
services to those in need throughout all stages of life. With an annual
operating budget of $2.6 million and over 40 compassionate staff members across
four locations, the following services are offered: Social Security advocacy,
emergency assistance, family case management, a community lunch program,
regional permanency centers, a community clothing center, supervised
visitation, drug court, counseling and a college-bound initiative.
In 2021, two divisions of Catholic
Charities – Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes and Catholic Charities of
Wayne County – merged to increase mission impact in the five-county region.
Executive
Director | Position Profile
Catholic Charities seeks a mission-focused, strategic and
results-oriented individual to serve as Executive Director of Catholic
Charities of the Finger Lakes.
The Executive Director leads,
manages and sets strategy for Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes. This
position is responsible for managing agency operations and fiscal performance.
The Executive Director will embrace Catholic Charities’ mission, purposefully
lead a strong and caring staff team, seek out funding to fuel service delivery,
collaborate with Board members on strategy and vision, and ensure Catholic
Charities is a vital presence and valued partner in the communities served.
The Executive Director is jointly
accountable to the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes
and to the President/Diocesan Director of Catholic Charities.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
1.
Provide strategic
leadership to the organization and foster an organizational culture centered on
the mission of Catholic Charities.
2.
Provide executive
oversight of all agency operations, program management and reporting.

Guide program managers
in establishing goals and monitoring results.
·
Regularly visit all
program sites and maintain relationships with respective staff.
·
Oversee Agency physical
assets, including site facilities, leases, and maintenance.
3.
Oversee agency financial planning and fiscal
integrity.

In collaboration with Finance staff, develop
an annual budget and monitor monthly financial performance.
·
Maximize efficiency in operations
·
Provide primary leadership in seeking,
developing, writing and securing grants.
4.
Foster relationships
with community partners.
·
Enhance the organization’s
image and increase overall visibility
·
Establish collaborative
relationships with community stakeholders such as government officials, other
human service providers and local and diocesan pastoral leaders.
5.
Provide vision, insight, background
information, policy recommendations, and staff support to the CCFL Board of
Directors. Serve as an ex-officio member
of the Board.
6.
Promote parish social
ministry and address parish social ministry needs.
7.
Ensure that the Agency
maintains an effective public policy legislative network.
8.
Function as an essential
member of the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester Executive team,
collaborating with peer division directors and central office department
leaders.

Position
Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field preferred. Candidates with appropriate
Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience will be considered. Actively
practicing Catholic in good standing.
Five years of executive management experience. Demonstrated ability to
lead public relations and fundraising campaigns. Experience in human services
is a plus.
Compensation
and Benefits
Salary will be
commensurate with candidate experience and education. Employees at Catholic
