SBC
Clinician (Newark and Geneva NY)
The
School Based Counseling (SBC) Clinician is a 10-month position responsible for
the assessment and delivery of quality service to youth and families. This is achieved by utilizing effective
clinical insight and oversight regarding family assessments, treatment
planning, safety reviews and consultations with staff, and, when indicated,
directly with families. The Clinician
will work with a team of other human service professionals to ensure that
documentation reflects a thorough assessment of the youth's/family's needs.
Salary: $30.00-$32.00 an
hour dependent on education, experience, and licensure.
Location: Area Public Schools, following school calendar
Schedule: Full Time, Monday –
Friday. 35 hours per week,10-month position and following school calendar

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- In collaboration with
local community entities serving children and families or designated school
districts, administers various clinical assessments.
- Provides counseling
intervention in individual, family, or group sessions, depending on client need.
- Completes necessary case
record paperwork according to department procedure.
- Carries a caseload
according to Family Services of America Accreditation standards.
- Completes all
statistical and written reports in a thorough and timely fashion.
- Participates in staff
meetings and clinical supervision as determined by SBC Program Manager.
- Informs both clinical
supervisor and program manager of significant events/issues related to clients
as appropriate.
- Works collaboratively
with Child Protective Services (CPS) as need is identified.
- Maintains current
knowledge on professional practice through reading and reasonable attendance at
seminars, workshops, and conferences.
- Notifies and maintains
contact with Primary Care Physician (PCP) as needed regarding counseling.
- Develops community
resources.
- Networks with other
school districts, community agencies and businesses to develop monetary and
people resources and connects families/students to community resources as
needed.
- Exhibits working
knowledge and application of the DSM-V or any evolutions thereafter.
- Is aware of and actively
supports the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and
Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and
Diverse.
- Participates in agency
requirements/events including but not limited to: fundraising; community
events; evening and weekend requirements; affiliated school open houses as
directed by supervisor from time to time.
- Participate in all staff
meetings.
- Attend mandatory
training.
- Other duties as
assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·
Master’s degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling or a
related field of study is required.
·
NYS Professional License in area of study is preferred,
however, candidates who are license eligible upon hire may be considered.
·
Candidates with 1-3 years of experience as a clinician are
preferred.
·
Candidates must have thorough knowledge of the services
provided, well developed advocacy skills, and knowledge and understanding of
payment processes for services.

Our hiring process and timeline:

Phone screenings will be conducted with qualified candidates.
·
In-person one-hour interviews will be conducted with
candidates who advance after the phone screening.
·
In-person interviews are typically with 2-4 Interviewers.
