Housing Assistant - Housing Counseling
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The Housing Assistant serves as a member of the Housing Counseling Services staff team with specific responsibilities for mortgage foreclosure prevention program
administration functions, outreach/education to recruit program participants, post-purchase education/training for
mortgage foreclosure prevention and financial fitness; networking with lenders and other community partners.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Outreach/recruitment for public awareness and participation in all services; network with lenders, relators,
and community partners.
2. Post-purchase
education/training for new homeowners and participation in Homeowner Association events.
3. Develop
education/training materials related to program services and articles/content
for monthly newsletter-coordinate distribution.
4.
Data entry, report preparation, file maintenance.
5.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent experience.
Two years’ experience in housing/human services.
A combination of education and
experience may be substituted at the discretion of the
Executive Director.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Group presentation
skills; money
management skills; computer skills.
· Ability
to speak and write competently about homeownership, credit issues, financial
priority setting, money management, housing economic justice issues.
