Senior Solutions Engineer

challenges. The Senior Solutions
Engineer contributes to this by completing the mechanical build of projects,
including installation and coordination with the project team.
Essential Duties
The Senior Solutions Engineer plays a
vital role in the ongoing success of Han-Tek.
Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The essential duties and responsibilities of
the position include:
§
Leads system solution concepting analysis and design
efforts
§
Performs on-site analysis for data gathering prior to
design
§
Performs required data analysis to understand customer
business requirements to build concept designs
§
Develops scope of work and concept documentation for
internal and external project team members
§
Effectively delegates work to mechanical, controls,
and software engineers as needed to support study, estimating, and proposal
generation efforts
§
Interfaces with customer engineering and end-user
contacts during project concept design and analysis phase
§
Designs automated systems using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD
when required
§
Designs automated material handling equipment layouts
using AutoCAD
§
Develops proposals and presentations with sales and
engineering team for presentation to customers.
§
Travels to site to support field efforts (25-35%
travel required)
§
Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and
occasionally lift 25 lbs.
Education, Experience, and
Other Requirements
Based on the responsibilities of this
position, the Senior Solutions Engineer is required to have the following
qualifications:
§
10+ years in design of automated material handling
systems and robotic handling systems
§
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience
§
Strong understanding of mechanical design practices
for automated systems, conveyor systems, robotic systems, pneumatic systems,
and end-of-arm tooling
§
Strong understanding of controls and software
engineering concepts and practices as they relate to the control and function
of automated systems
§
Strong proficiency in concept design engineering for
customized automation and tooling
§
Strong proficiency in general mechanical design using
AutoCAD
§
Proficient in production and manufacturing data
analysis and reporting results using industry standard tools
§
Knowledgeable on industry standards and safety
standards for automated systems
§
Knowledgeable in the design of automated systems using
Fanuc robots
§
ABB, KUKA, and Yaskawa Robot system design
§
Robot programming experience is a plus
§
Material handling and AS/RS system design is a plus
Physical and Environmental
The Senior Solutions Engineer is located primarily in an office
environment but may experience other conditions while on-site at a customer’s location
on a regular basis. Physical
requirements include:
§ Moderate
lifting (up to 50 pounds)
§ Use
of potentially hazardous machinery
§ Use
of power tools
§ Exposure
to fumes from painting supplies and other chemicals used throughout production
and installation
§ Exposure
to loud noise
§ Proper
safety equipment must be worn including:
o
Safety glasses
o
Steel-toed boots
o
Customer locations may require
additional safety equipment to be used
§ Awareness of potential hazards, such as nearby
machinery, while in the shop or at a customer location
